Tandem
Tandem is a powerful workflow builder tool that allows teams without dedicated technical resources to test and run custom API workflows, bringing this ability to teams who might not have the resources to do so. At Input Logic, we had the opportunity to transform this technical tool into a delightful and vibrant modern brand and product. I helped create the brand with the design team from playful illustration to technical product design, this project was a joy from initial conception to the deep details of UX/UI flows.

A technical tool for a semi-technical audience
Tandem approached us after identifying a gap in the product lifecycle. Tech products don't have to look boring
From the beginning, we were free to push the boundaries with the branding for Tandem. We used the technical aspects of the product and turned them into a whimsical and playful illustration style, incorporating gears, cogs, and other abstractions of data and technology. Through some playful animation, we infused vibrance into the brand, making it feel approachable.
A dynamic brand, from playful to technical
As we delved into the product, our main challenge in terms of user experience was simplifying the complexities of API integrations and creating a user-friendly interface for people with basic knowledge. We infused the playful and vibrant brand into a product that feels clean, light, and fun. When possible, the colorful illustration style made for perfect empty states.
Crafting a delightful drag and drop experience
A core part of the product is the workflow builder. We delved deeply into the details to ensure that setting up a workflow is as seamless as possible. We implemented a sleek drag-and-drop functionality and a design that reflects the vibrant brand without being intrusive. The visual presentation of API workflows includes subtle colors, icons, and hover states for a delightfully branded product experience. Attention to little details has made the tool simply feel good to use.
